No Solicitors Allowed

Door-to-door solicitors must have a transient merchant license issued by the City of Moline Finance Department. The license does not imply endorsement or approval by the City of the goods and/or services the solicitors represent. Please note that the City has not hired anyone to promote special deals for water or sewer utilities or security systems. These are private third-party providers.

Remember:

1. You can always choose not to answer your door when a solicitor comes around.

2. You can print a “No Solicitors” sign from the City’s Website (link below) and post it to your front door.

3. ALL solicitors MUST, upon request, show their current license and are only permitted to solicit between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. No solicitation is allowed at any time on Sunday or National Holidays.

Any solicitor going door-to-door without a transient merchant license or outside the permissible hours listed above is subject to citation. Please call the Finance Department if you have any questions or concerns at 309-524-2070 or dial 911 for emergencies.

If you wish to prohibit solicitors from entering your premises, please print out and place the No Solicitors card below and place upon or near the main entrance door to your home to prohibit soliciting in accordance with Sec. 17-2100 of City Code.
