Anna Castro
Anna Castro is a third-generation Moline resident, born and raised in the Floreciente neighborhood. She was elected to the Moline City Council in April 2023.
Anna supports neighborhood revitalization efforts and attracting and supporting small businesses. She believes in providing the services and amenities that our residents and business owners expect and deserve, while maintaining fiscal responsibility. She believes that Moline is a great place to live because of the diversity of our residents and will work to ensure that we are a city that is welcoming and accessible to all.
Anna is a member of the Moline LULAC council and is the treasurer of the Moline Public Schools Foundation. She also serves on several committees at Augustana, including the LGBTQ+ Committee, the Grievance and Harassment Committee and the Strategic Planning Commission.
Anna is a Moline High School graduate. She earned a BA in Business Administration and Spanish from Augustana College. She is employed at Augustana College in the TRIO Student Support Services program, which provides guidance and support for first-generation college students, low-income students, and students with disabilities.
Anna and her husband, Jose have 4 adult children, 2 dogs and 2 grandcats. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and attending local events.
