Starting Monday June 5th, McCarthy Improvement Company will be starting reconstruction of sidewalks and driveways on Avenue of the Cities between 41st Street and 34th Street. During this time there will be sidewalk detours and lane restrictions along Avenue of the Cities. Traffic will have access to the various businesses and facilities along Avenue of the Cities at all times via alternate driveways and partial driveway closures. Traffic on Avenue of the Cities will only be restricted down to a single lane on the Westbound direction to start. The Eastbound restrictions will not begin until Westbound work is complete. These restrictions will be limited to approximately 6 AM until 3 PM unless roadway patching requires the lane closure to be left up overnight.
Construction will begin on the Westbound direction starting at 41st Street and will work in the direction of 34th Street. It is anticipated that this direction of work will take approximately 6 weeks to complete. Upon completion of the Westbound sidewalk and driveways, work will begin on the Eastbound sidewalk and driveways working from 34th Street in the direction of 41st Street.
