Starting in January 2024 Moline residents will receive monthly rather than quarterly utility bills for water, sewer, storm water and sanitation usage.
The change is expected to benefit customers by making it easier to plan monthly budgets, monitor water usage through more timely information and reduce the seasonal fluctuation in billing amounts. Other benefits of monthly billing include allowing customers to better adjust their water usage habits as well as detect potential leaks in their plumbing sooner.
Here is how the transition to monthly billing will roll out:
• Customers last billed in October will receive a smaller quarterly bill - covering 74 days of use - sent Jan. 17 and due Feb. 1, covering service fees and usage from the October bill date. The first monthly bill will be sent on Feb. 14, due on Feb. 29. Following that, bills will be sent monthly.
• Customers last billed in November will receive a smaller quarterly bill – covering 44 days of use - sent Jan. 24 and due Feb. 8. The first monthly bill will be sent Feb. 21, due on March 7. Following that, bills will be sent monthly.
• Customers billed in December will not see a bill in December but will receive a larger quarterly bill – covering 105 days of use - sent Jan. 10 and due Jan. 25. The first monthly bill will be sent on Feb. 7 and due on Feb. 22. Following that, bills will be sent monthly.
Residents are encouraged to sign up for the automatic payment program, which is available for both e-check and credit card and has no service fee. Register online at https://moli-egov.aspgov.com/Click2GovCX/index.html.
Non-auto, online payments can be made but do have a minimal fee.
