[ARCHIVED] Moline City Council requests Investigation

The Moline City Council has been made aware of allegations relating to employee misconduct. The Council has determined that an independent investigation of the allegations is warranted. This investigation will be supported by a forensic audit. The investigation may take a significant amount of time as the forensic audit portion alone is expected to exceed two months. The City Council has also decided to engage the outside legal counsel of Lane & Waterman attorney Mikkie Schiltz to guide the Moline City Council as well as protect the best interests of the Moline residents and Moline business partners.

The Council is committed to fully supporting a thorough independent investigation of these allegations. The outcome of the investigation will serve as either an exoneration of the accused if the allegations are unfounded or an opportunity to hold wrong-doers accountable if misconduct is verified. The City Council is grateful that the allegations were brought to us and that we have an opportunity to find the truth and demonstrate transparency as we work through this situation. The City Council has no further comment on the circumstances surrounding the allegations or the investigation at this time.
