1. What does the burn ban include?

The burn ban includes leaves, tree branches, and grass clippings. To report an illegal burn within the city, contact the Moline Fire Department non-emergency line at 309.797.0401. For more information, see the Burn Ban page.

2. Are recreational fires allowed? Do I need permit?

Recreational fires are allowed and do not require a permit. There are restrictions for recreational fires:

• Recreational fires can burn dry wood only, excluding building materials.
• Recreational fires cannot contain leaves or yard waste.
• Branches and logs used in recreational fires cannot exceed 12 inches in diameter.
• Recreational fires cannot be more than 5 feet in diameter or 3 feet in height.
• Recreational fires are allowed only between the hours of 12:00 noon and 12:00 midnight.
• Recreational fires in brick or metal containers can be as close as 15 feet to a structure. All others must be at least 25 feet from adjoining properties and combustibles.

3. Who do I contact with questions about my ambulance bill?

Our ambulance billing is processed by a third party administrator, Professional Billing Services. Contact Professional Billing Services at 877.482.2461.

4. When/Where is the Fire Prevention Program presented?

The Fire Prevention Program is presented in all grades of the Public and Private schools. Upon request, a Fire Prevention Program can be presented in your place of work. Please call the Moline Fire Marshall at 309.524.2266 for further information.

5. How do I get copies of a fire or ambulance report?
