April 20, 2019, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM @ Moline Garden Center
In the U.S. there are 45.6 million acres of lawns and golf courses, which offer little to pollinators and other wildlife. Insect populations are in decline and birds and other animals rely on insects for their survival. In this class, you will learn how individuals can collectively provide a larger habitat to lessen the detrimental effects of urban sprawl. Topics covered include: native plants, invasive plant species and how to tailor habitats to attract various birds and reptiles. This class is inspired by the work of entomologist, Dr. Doug Tallamy.
