 Bicycle/Walking Trails

Moline offers a number of opportunities for bicyclers, joggers, and walkers. Our trail system includes:

Ralph B. Birks Bicycle Trail

The Ralph B. Birks Bicycle Trail is Moline’s section of the Great River Trail. It is comprised of a 2.2 asphalt path along Ben Butterworth Memorial Parkway (26th to 55th Streets) and a trail extension to Rock Island (1st to 26th Streets). The trail runs alongside the Mississippi River and provides aesthetic opportunities, picnic areas, and a chance to study wildlife in and around the Mississippi.

Temporary Bike Route for Birks Bicycle Trail

A temporary route has been established to accommodate the construction at Bass Street Landing and the future Kone Centre Tower.  This temporary route begins at 19th Street and ends at the base of the Arsenal bridge ramp (Moline entrance). Click here to view map.  The permanent bicycle trail will be established upon completion of Phase III of Bass Street Landing.

Moline Kiwanis Bike – Jog Trail

Located along the Rock River from 7th to 60th Streets, the Moline – Kiwanis Bike – Jog Trail is a 6.5 mile crushed rock path that traverses a scenic wildlife and nature study area. The trail serves bicyclers, joggers, and walkers.

Trinity Trails at Prospect Park - Fitness Trails

Historic Prospect Park offers two miles of fitness trails which run throughout the park located at 33rd Avenue, west of Park 16th Street. The year-round 10,300 steps (2 mile) fitness/nature trails feature varying degrees of walking difficulty. Now with a new and improved surface, the trails offer a more pleasant walking experience for all fitness levels. The trails were designed and sponsored in partnership with Trinity Regional Health System.

Dan-O Watkins Memorial Bike Route

Located along city streets and acting as an on-street bicycle connection between schools, parks and various points of interest, this 16-mile course takes the bicycler on a strategic tour of the city.
