Sign Permits

The Advertising and Signs Code is designed to maintain and enhance the aesthetic environment, attract sources of economic development and growth, and to improve pedestrian and traffic safety. If an individual or business wishes to place a sign on their premises, a sign permit must be approved or Planning Department personnel must determine that a permit is not necessary. Section 3-2105 of the Advertising and Signs Code lists signs that do not require a permit. To discuss sign permit requirements for your property, please contact the Planning & Economic Development Department at (309) 524-2050 or email schrist@moline.il.us.
