On a daily basis, the Criminal Investigations supervisors review all reports received by the Moline Police Department and make case assignments to the individual detectives. Detectives work very closely with citizens, merchants, banks, and other businesses to resolve their complaints. Once an investigation is completed, the case is prepared for prosecution.

In addition to conducting follow-up investigations, staff support from the section is provided to the department’s Crisis Containment Unit, the area Meth Lab Response Team, anti-gang initiatives, federal Anti-Terrorism Task Force, federal Anti-Gang Task Force, and the Quad City Metropolitan Enforcement Group. Staff also works with property owners to eliminate illegal drug use from rental property.
