Fleet Maintenance
Division

Moline's
Fleet Division Ranked No. 7 within top 20 fleets in
U.S.!
The Fleet Maintenance Division
provides a centralized maintenance program for the City’s
405 pieces of equipment, which includes vehicles, trucks,
heavy construction equipment, and maintenance equipment.
This program provides regular preventive maintenance as
well as any unscheduled repairs by ASE certified
mechanics. Of the total maintenance to equipment, 85% are
scheduled, 15% are unscheduled, with less than 5% downtime
overall. The preventative maintenance program is based on
manufacturers’ suggested guidelines along with internal
usage records.
Corrective maintenance is
based on uniformity and life cycle costing measurements.
Utilization of historical maintenance reports allows
accurate accounting for anticipated equipment values and
replacement scheduling.
Fleet Maintenance prepares the
specifications to purchase all automotive, and light and
heavy truck equipment; purchases/stores/distributes fuels,
parts and supplies; and performs state inspections
in-house on all vehicles except ambulances. The division
also coordinates repair work contracted to outside
commercial vendors.
