How do I dispose of household appliances?
Residents may dispose of household appliances/ white
goods free by calling 1-877-934-5378 to schedule a
time for curbside pick-up.
You may also request a
pick-up online at
www.weikertrecycling.com. Residents are allowed
four units per household per year. Appliances
that are accepted for pickup include: stoves,
refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, air
conditioners, and dehumidifiers.
How do I dispose of tires?
Residents may dispose of used tires free by calling

How do I dispose of household chemicals, used paint or
other hazardous materials in the home?
Household hazardous
materials may be disposed of at no charge. Call the
Scott Area Landfill at 563-381-1300 for an

How can I get a Building
or other required Permit?
The Inspections Division is located at the Municipal
Services Center Building, 3635 - 4th Avenue, Moline.
Permits can be obtained Monday through Friday
between 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. and
12:30 p.m. These permits include Building, Plumbing,
Electrical, Heating and Food. 309-524-2370.
Where can I pay my water bill?

How do I sign up for water service?
Owners are required to place a $100.00 deposit unless
there is an active account in their name for which a
deposit has already been placed and sign an owners'
information card. Owners' deposits will be held two
years and will be applied directly to the account if
the account is in good standing. If you move prior
to the two year period, the deposit will be applied
to your final bill.
If my water bill is
unusually high, what can I do?
Be aware that your bill will be higher if during that
billing quarter you: Watered landscaping, had
overnight guests, major holidays or the most common
culprit...a "running" toilet. To test for a running
toilet; put food coloring in the back of the toilet
tank and wait 30 minutes without flushing. If
colored water appears in the bowl of the toilet, the
toilet is using water unnecessarily and needs new
parts.
Do my animals need pet licenses?
All pet owners living in the City of Moline are required
to obtain an annual pet tag for their dogs and cats.

located at 4001 - 78th Avenue, Moline. Phone:

Pet owners must have a copy of a current Rabies
vaccination certificate to purchase a tag.

How is my property assessed?
The City of Moline has no involvement in the
assessment process. Moline is divided into two
townships: Moline Township and South Moline
Township. To determine which township you
reside in, please refer to your property tax bill.

Can I burn leaves, yard
waste or tree limbs in Moline?
No, burning is no longer
permitted within the City of Moline.
The burn ban includes
leaves, tree branches, and grass clippings.
To report an illegal burn within the City, please
contact Moline’s non-emergency number: 309-797-0401.
Those violating the ordinance
will be fined $25 for a first offense ($15 if paid
within 48 hours), and $50 for a second or additional
offense. The ordinance is enforced by the
Moline Fire Department.
Exceptions: Recreational Fires
Recreational fires do not
require a permit, but recreational fires can burn
dry wood only, excluding building
materials. Recreational
fires cannot contain leaves or yard waste.
Branches and logs cannot exceed 12 inches in
diameter, and fires cannot be more than 5 feet in
diameter or 3 feet in height. Recreational
fires are allowed only between the hours or noon and
midnight. Those in brick or metal containers
can be as close as 15 feet to a structure, but must
be at least 25 feet from adjoining properties and
combustibles.
How do I dispose of
brush/twigs?
The City of Moline will pick up small piles of brush
and twigs that are bundled, at no charge to the
resident. Brush trimmings or tree limbs are to be
tied in bundles less than 4 feet in length and 1
foot in diameter and will be picked up weekly.
Large Piles of brush and limbs
that are not bundled will be picked up after
prepayment of the $140 collection fee is made at
either the Moline Finance Office, 1630 - 8th Avenue, or the
Municipal Services Building, 3635 – 4th Avenue.
Residents should stack the pile neatly – not under
any low wires or next to trees or poles. There is no
limit to the size of the pile, but limbs that are 4
inches in diameter is the maximum. For more

How do I dispose of my yard waste?
Yard waste must be in paper bags with a City of
Moline sticker attached. Place out with regular
garbage. Stickers are sold at Moline grocery and
hardware stores for $2.00 each.
Yard
waste will be collected through December 15th.
Stickers are not required from October 15-December
15.
I need to get my swimming
pool filled. Will you come and do it?
No.
Does the Moline Fire
Department have a Fire Prevention Program?
Yes. The Fire Prevention Program is presented in all
grades of the Public and Private schools. Upon
request, a Fire Prevention Program can be presented
in your place of work. Please call the Moline Fire
