Free Presentation Offers Tips on Conserving Home Energy

Po
sted 12/07/05

Illinois residents can learn how to get the most out of their home energy dollar by attending a free presentation offered by Project NOW in partnership with Keep Warm Illinois and MidAmerican Energy. The “Keep Warm and Save Energy and Money” presentation will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2005, at 9:30 a.m. at the Moline Township Hall, 620-18th Street, Moline. Additional parking is available at the Scottish Rite Cathedral, located across the street from the hall.

Illinois State Governor Blagojevich’s Keep Illinois Warm campaign is informing residents that with record natural gas prices, Illinois households will face significantly higher heating bills this winter. Illinois households could see their heating bills jump by 70%, costing the average household $800 more to heat their homes this winter as compared to last winter. While every family in Illinois will be affected, higher home heating costs will create a particular hardship for senior citizens and families already struggling to make ends meet. This free presentation is designed to help educate residents on what they can do to conserve energy in their homes.
