City Offers 50/50 Sidewalk Replacement Program
Posted 10/11/05
The City of
Moline is accepting applications from homeowners wishing
to replace hazardous public sidewalks as part of it
50/50 Sidewalk Replacement Program.
The program allows property owners to pay just 50% of
the cost to replace existing public sidewalks, which
have deteriorated or are hazardous. A hazardous sidewalk
may be one that is sinking, cracked or is clearly a
safety hazard
To participate in the program, property owners must call
the Engineering Division at 309-736-5938, prior
to October 31, 2005.
Job parameters and cost will be determined and then a
bill will be sent to the property owner to cover 50% of
the cost. When the City has received payment from the
property owner, the work will be scheduled with the
private contractor hired by the City.
This program is offered each year as a cost sharing
measure for citizens and business owners, and continues
as long as sufficient funds are available.
For more information about the sidewalk replacement
program, residents may contact the Engineering
Department at 309-736-5938.
