City
Seeks Sponsors to Help Clean & Beautify Through
Adopt-A-Street Program
Posted 04/26/06
In an effort to free its
streets of debris and present an attractive scenery for
residents and visitors, the City of Moline is seeking
groups to participate in its Adopt-A-Street program. The
Adopt-A-Street program encourages civic, nonprofit or
private groups to take pride in their hometown by
helping to keep city streets litter free. Individuals,
families and neighborhood organizations are encouraged
to participate.
Groups are asked to “adopt” a one-mile area for a two
year period and to hold collection days at least four
times per year. The City will post signs bearing each
group’s name or acronym at the beginning and end of the
adopted area.
Sponsoring groups are provided with orange safety vests
to wear during all collection times in designated
adoption areas. Trash bags are provided. The City will
pick up the trash once collected.
There are several Moline streets currently available for
adoption. For more information on how to adopt-a-street,
call Jan Patterson,
Public Works Department,
at 309-797-0780. An Adopt-A-Street application is also
available by

In honor of Earth Day 2006, the City
of Moline is encouraging all current Adopt-A-Street
sponsors to schedule a clean-up day as soon as possible.
