Moline Plans Community Meetings on New Automated Garbage Collection

Posted 03/31/06

The City of Moline will hold special community meetings on the new automated garbage collection system on Wednesday, April 5 and 12, at 6 pm, at the Public Works Facility, 3635 – 4th Avenue, Moline. Residents are invited to attend. Meetings will include a short presentation and will provide an opportunity for questions about the new collection system.

The City of Moline will implement the new cart system in May of this year. Under the new system, the City will provide each customer with a 96 gallon cart. The refuse carts will be owned and maintained by the City. Additional carts will be available for a one-time charge of $46.00 plus an additional $35 annually thereafter. Residents may request a half-size cart (48 gallon) in lieu of the larger 96-gallon cart by completing a waiver form at the Public Works facility, or by calling 309-797-0780.

Residents with questions about the new carts or automated garbage collection may call the Public Works at 309-797-0780, or click here for more information.
