Moline, IL – Assembly is underway for the 17,000 carts
needed for Moline’s new automated garbage collection
program scheduled to be implemented early this summer.
City crews are assembling an estimated 1,000 carts per
day at the warehouse space located at 2500 River Drive,
(east end of the building) during the hours of 7 am – 3
pm.
City crews will begin delivery of the new garbage carts
to Moline residents on or before June 1, and hope to
complete delivery by the end of June. Residents should
begin using their new cart immediately upon receipt. The
City will no longer collect garbage from other
containers or Herbie Curbies once a resident has
received his new cart.
Each garbage cart features a bright orange sticker
affixed to its lid which provides residents with proper
placement instructions and the telephone numbers to call
for bulky item collection, appliance/tire pick-up and
general collection questions.
For questions about the new carts or automated garbage
collection program, residents may call the Public Works
Department at 309-797-0780.
