The
Moline Centre Partners’ Façade Committee will begin
accepting applications on December 15 for the 2007
downtown façade forgivable loan program. Under the
program, property owners can apply for assistance to
renovate street-facing exteriors of downtown buildings.
The program offers a dollar for dollar match up to
$10,000 for one façade.
Moline’s Façade Improvement Program was established in
2004 for businesses located within the downtown Moline
TIF (Tax Increment Financing) District. It was designed
to assist with the refurbishing of building exteriors,
with the intention of emphasizing and highlighting the
building’s historic character. To date, 18 different
building improvements have been made within the downtown
area.
“In just two years, the façade program truly has made a
difference for downtown Moline,” said Craig Mack, Façade
Committee Chairman. “Lagomarcino’s, Movers and Shakers,
and the Reliance building are just a few of the projects
that are a testament to the program’s impact.”
Applications are available at Moline City Hall, 619 –
16th Street, or by
