Moline's Water
Treatment Plant Improvements Project was recognized with
two significant engineering awards in 2005. Moline's
project received an Outstanding
Engineering Achievement Award
at the Illinois Engineering Council's 67th Annual
Outstanding Engineering Achievement Awards Banquet in
September 2005. The project also received a Merit
Award
at the ACEC-IL 34th Annual Engineering Excellence Awards
Program in January 2005.
Water
General Manager, Greg Swanson, was in attendance and
accepted both awards on behalf of the City of Moline.
“These awards were presented to the City of Moline on
the basis of engineering excellence and public benefit
associated with the innovative upgrade of Moline's Water
Treatment Plant,” said Water General Manager Greg
Swanson. “The awards reflect Moline's ongoing commitment
to excellence in city services and quality of life by
providing the public infrastructure necessary to sustain
a safe and reliable water supply for years to come.”
Moline's project was in good company at these award
ceremonies, with Chicago's Millennium Park Project
receiving the top award.
