Prospect Park Trail System Repair to Begin
Posted: 03/28/07
The City
of Moline will soon begin repairing the gravel walking
trails at Prospect Park. Trail repair was delayed due to
the harsh winter, but is now expected to begin within
the next two weeks, weather permitting. Repairs are
expected to be complete by May 31st.
In December of 2006, the Moline City Council approved
the purchase of construction materials to repair the
Prospect Park trails. Repairs to the two main trails,
(from the grand pavilion to the Music Guild, and from
the grand pavilion parking lot to the 15th Street C
parking lot), will be completed by city crews. The
gravel trails will remain closed while under repair.
Other trail repairs are planned and will proceed as
funding and time permit.
The remainder of Prospect Park, including the restored
grand pavilion, pond, playground and new disc golf
course are currently open.
The $200,000 fitness trails were installed in 2006 as
part of the $1.2 million park renovation.
