New Director for Moline Public Library

The Board of Directors of the Moline Public Library has selected Robert E. Hafeman as its Library Director. Mr. Hafeman will succeed to the position held by Leslie L. Kee, who retired in July 2009. Mr. Hafeman, an Illinois native, received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Governor’s State University, University Park, IL, and his Master’s in Library Science from the University of Illinois. He is currently employed as Systems Coordinator with the Manitowoc-Calumet Library System in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

“We had a top-notch field of candidates, and were thrilled to have our first choice accept the position,” said Dee Runnels, Board President. “Bob will involve his stakeholders in planning a vision for the Library, and will work with all to determine the steps necessary to execute it. He, like our Board, views the Library as the beacon of the community, which is needed now more than ever to enrich and grow Moline.”

Mr. Hafeman will commence his duties on or before October 15, 2009.
