City Administrator to Select Permanent Fire Chief

Moline City Administrator Lew Steinbrecher has announced that the City will maintain a permanent Fire Chief position within its municipal organization and has authorized the Human Resources office to advertise the position nationally. Interim Fire Chief Ron Miller has been invited to apply for the position as a permanent appointment and will likely be considered a strong candidate based on his performance as Interim Fire Chief since July 17, 2009.

The City will conduct a national search to determine the quality of outside professional candidates compared to internal candidates for the Fire Chief position. Applications and resumes will be accepted through October 2, 2009 with interviews planned for mid-October and a final decision on naming a new permanent Fire Chief by November 9th.
