ALERT TO RESIDENTS – SNOW ROUTES WILL BE IN EFFECT
Posted 02/09/10
With winter weather upon
us, the City of Moline is alerting residents that snow
routes will be in effect until all routes have been
cleared following the snow fall. All vehicles must be
moved from snow routes to provide for efficient snow
removal. City snow routes are marked with signs.
Vehicles not removed from the snow routes will be towed.
Moline’s snow and ice removal is a 24 hour operation and
snow routes will be in effect until all routes are
clear. Motorists are advised to use extreme caution when
driving in snow and icy conditions, and stay a safe
distance of at least 100 feet behind the snow plows.
Residents are also encouraged to refrain from parking on
city streets, which are not designated as snow routes,
after a snowfall. Residents should park in driveways
when at all possible, as this is helpful to city crews
during the snow removal process.
Residents with questions regarding whether or not they
are located on a snow route may contact the Public Works
Department at 309-524-2400. Residents may also visit the
city’s website at www.moline.il.us, and click on “Winter
Preparedness” located under Quick Links on the homepage.
The City of Moline further reminds home and business
owners that it is the property owner’s responsibility to
remove snow from sidewalks that border their property
within 12 hours of a snow fall ending.
