Scott J. Williams
Alderman Williams is a lifelong resident of the First Ward. Scott was appointed to the Council in March 12, 2019, and elected April 2, 2019. His current term will expire in May of 2023.
Supports
Alderman Williams supports maximizing the value of municipal services while maintaining fiscal responsibility. Scott also supports expanding Moline’s tax base by attracting new business, promoting current business, and creating a stronger business friendly environment.
Involvement
Scott is currently serving on the Moline Municipal Credit Union Board. Alderman Williams is a member of numerous organizations to include the local chapter of the Marine Corps League, American Legion Post 246, and the National Rifle Association. He holds lifetime membership in the Police Benevolent and is a member of the Scottish American Society of the Quad Cities.
Education & Employment
A graduate of Moline High School and Black Hawk College, Scott wore many hats during his thirty-year career with the Moline Police Department. Undercover MEG Agent, DARE Officer, Adult and Juvenile Detective, Middle and High School Liaison Officer, Coordinator of Crime Stoppers of the Quad Cities, Public Information Officer, President of the Police Benevolent and President of the Police Pension Board. Along with others Scott was instrumental in the establishment of Moline’s Neighborhood Partnership Committee. Scott has compiled thirty years of Police related training, certification, and experience. Alderman Williams is a proud United States Marine Corps Veteran who is currently employed as a Court Security Officer at the Federal Courthouse in Davenport.
Family & Free Time
Scott and his wife Elizabeth have two grown sons. Free time is spent with their rescue Greyhound “Sophie” and amazing Border Collie “Haggis.”
