New Lead Law
The Building Department is reminding all area contractors that if they are paid to replace windows or renovate residential houses, apartments, or child-occupied facilities built before 1978, they must be certified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Renovation Certification
Due to federal regulations pertaining to the Renovation, Repair, and Painting Lead Law effective April 22, 2010, our office requires all registered contractors to provide a Renovation Certification before obtaining buildings permits.
