Flood Insurance Study

The Flood Insurance Study (FIS) is a narrative report of Rock Island County's flood hazards. Flood profiles within the FIS may be used to obtain the detailed base flood elevation at a specific site and also the predicted elevation for other flood events. Information contained in the FIS includes:

  • Description of the areas studies and the engineering methods used
  • Past flooding information
  • Graphic profiles of the flood source
  • Other pertinent information

Download the Flood Insurance Study, reduced to 8.5 by 11 inches to accommodate standard printers. A full-scale (11 by 17 inch) version is available for viewing and purchase at the FEMA Map Service Center.

FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) adopted new Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) for the City of Moline and Rock Island County April 5, 2010. The official flood hazard maps and flood hazard study (FIS) may be viewed and printed online at FEMA’s Map Service Center. Paper copies are also available for viewing at the Community Development Department at Moline City Hall. Appointments are requested.

Moline Flood Zone Maps

The city has created an interactive web map that allows users to search by street address and view flood zones in conjunction with local data, such as recent aerial photos and approximate property lines. Search by address or zoom in to an area of interest.
