Urn Gardens

Urn Gardens are in-ground graves for the burial of cremated remains. Each grave holds one burial of cremated remains. Due to the small size of these graves only flush marker rights are permitted. We recommend permanent containers or urns be used so the remains can be located if necessary. Urn vaults are not required in City of Moline Cemeteries, however, some families opt for this added protection of cremated remains. In addition to urn gardens we have above-ground columbarium niches at both Riverside Cemetery and Moline Memorial Park.

Please call the Cemetery office at 309.524.2435 for information or an appointment. Staff can show you available locations of urn gardens and go over current prices with you, including flush granite markers and columbarium niches.

Note

It is against the law for you to scatter or bury cremated remains in cemeteries on your own. City of Moline Cemeteries do not have a scattering garden for cremated remains. All burials must be scheduled with the Cemetery office. Cemeteries are required to keep records of all burials and our staff opens and closes all graves. The opening and closing fees are necessary to maintain our cemeteries. Please call the Cemetery office at 309.524.2435 to schedule the burial of cremated remains.
