Did you know?
A sinkhole is a depression in the ground formed from the collapse or erosion of the underlying rock or soil. Sometimes these holes form over defective storm or sanitary sewer pipes. City crews identify the cause by adding dyed water into the hole and observing where it exits. When applicable, television cameras are lowered into the sewers to identify problems and determine the most cost-effective repair.
