Since it launched earlier this year, Moline’s new Business Owner Occupied Stabilization Transformation, or B.O.O.S.T. program, has signed up more than 50 prospective entrepreneurs and small business owners.
Later this month, the first of a series of mandatory workshops for participants will begin.
The B.O.O.S.T. program offers forgivable loans of between $10,000 and $80,000 to eligible businesses, but there are training requirements in order to receive the loans, including participation in the B.O.O.S.T. workshops. More information on how the program works and eligibility requirements can be found here.
The workshops are intended to provide business assistance/education and financial literacy. All program applicants are required to attend one or both of the free workshops.
Entrepreneurs are required to attend the Tier 1 & Tier 2 workshops, while current business owners are required to attend the Tier 2 workshop. Tier 1 is optional for current business owners.
Workshops will be conducted in person, recorded and instructed in two languages, English and Spanish, simultaneously in two classroom.
Each attendee is required to pre-register. Classroom space is limited.
Registration for each workshop will be closed the Wednesday prior to the actual workshop date. Confirmation emails will be sent to the email address provided.
