The Moline Fire Department responded to a fire at 1607 30th Avenue at 1:14 a.m. on Sunday, April 8th. A detached, single-car garage had smoke and fire coming from the roof. Reports indicate that two dogs died inside of the garage. No other injuries were reported and the fire was put out within 15 minutes. The incident is under investigation but early indications are that a wood-burning stove and chimney inside the garage may be the cause.
