1. How do I test my family and home for lead? Does the City of Moline have a program that assists in making my home lead safe?

Just knowing that a home has lead-based paint may not tell you if there is a hazard. To reduce your child's exposure to lead, get your child checked, have your home tested (especially if your home has paint in poor condition and was built before 1978), and fix any hazards you may have. 2. How do the CDBG subrecipients get their grant funding after the award is announced?

The city reimburses the subrecipient. The subrecipient is required to provide to the grant coordinator all receipts for eligible expenses with an invoice that totals the receipts submitted. The receipts are reviewed by staff to ensure that the activities being reimbursed are eligible. After the invoice is approved, the invoice is passed on for payment and a check is issued to the grantee.

3. Does the City of Moline provide housing assistance for homeless and/or Section 8 families and individuals?

No. The housing assistance provided is for rehabilitation assistance for families / individuals who already own their home. Assistance is also available for down payment and closing costs for families / individuals wishing to purchase a home in the City of Moline.
